Double Dutch

We’re not talking about the Double Dutch jump rope competition or even Sal Vulcano’s Double Dutch dance move on the Impartial Jokers TV show, we’re talking about the Double Dutch Tonic Water company, providing us with top quality Tonic Water for our ravishing cocktails.

“Our passion for flavours inspires our constant pursuit of new and exciting recipes.” – Raissa De Haas – Founder

Their mission is to make sure you never have to drink dull again, now that’s a great opening sentence to give you confidence in their pursuit for the perfect tonic water.

Joyce and Raissa De Haas are the founders of Double Dutch, they were born in the Netherlands, the birthplace of gin and they grew up surrounded by the world of drinks, during this time, they realised something, the world of Gins, Rums, Vodkas and all other spirits were constantly advancing with innovation, but the world of Tonic Water and Mixers was lagging behind, so they saw an opportunity to break into the market and help provide a much-needed service to the drinkers of the world.

Realising that a flavourful drink relies on the mixer as much as it does the alcohol, they decided to expand the flavour profile of Tonic Waters, this led to the creation of Double Dutch, a company that has made it its mission to ensure you never drink dull again.

“We believe we have created versatile mixers that work well with a range of spirits.” – Joyce De Haas – Founder

Double Dutch are known for their experimental Tonic Waters and Mixers, pairing their own mixer innovations (Cucumber & Watermelon and Pomegranate & Basil) with a range of spirits, mainly at parties which led them to be dubbed the ‘tonic twins’ by their friends and family.

They have now dedicated their lives to creating Double Dutch, a company that blends superb taste fusions with a focus on sustainability, garnished by a firm belief in the importance of having fun.

The best way to start exploring the Tonics of Double Dutch is with their 10 bottles mixed case, I received the following flavours:

  1. Skinny Tonic Water
  2. Pomegranate & Basil
  3. Ginger Beer
  4. Cucumber & Watermelon
  5. Indian Tonic Water
  6. Double Lemon
  7. Ginger Ale
  8. Cranberry & Ginger Tonic Water
  9. Cucumber Margarita – Soda with Chilli
  10. Pink Grapefruit

I haven’t yet enjoyed them all, but I certainly plan to, I jumped in with the most exciting ones to me, the Pink Grapefruit, Cucumber & Watermelon, Cranberry & Ginger and Cucumber Margarita, each displayed perfectly what I expected, a real fine level of quality that equally complemented the drink as much as the drink complemented the tonic water.
