Use keywords

Say key words relating to your business and your industry that you would like to rank for on Google.  YouTube has a feature which recognises words you are saying at the beginning of your video and helps your video’s SEO.

Use your description

Also relating to SEO, as with the above point, make sure that you use keywords relating to your business in the description of your videos.  Putting links in the description also helps your website SEO as they are back links and it also makes it easier for viewers to find out more about you.

Equipment

You don’t need any fancy equipment to shoot your own video.  You can just set up your camera and talk in to it.  If you don’t want to be in front of the camera, there are lots of packages which you can use to video the actions you are using on your screen.  So if you wanted to demonstrate something on your computer, this would be useful for that.

Topics

You may not think that you have a business which lends itself to videos, but you can make videos for whatever industry you are in, and compared to other forms of social media, there are much less companies using this, so it is less saturated.  Things you could upload to YouTube are product demonstrations, examples of services you can provide, talks demonstrating your knowledge on a topic, top tips, interviewing someone, demonstrating something on your screen, presentations you have filmed.

Promote

You need to promote your video as much as possible in the first 24 hours of uploading it to YouTube.  There is more chance of your video getting on the opening page of Google as a suggested video if lots of people view it in the first 24 hours.  So share your video over social media, through email, newsletters, word of mouth and anywhere you can share your video in that short space of time.
